The Centre for Public Health (CPH) is a WHO Collaborating Centre for Violence Prevention and its Director, Professor Mark Bellis, is UK Focal Point for Violence and Injury Prevention to the WHO. CPH has a dedicated team of academics working closely with WHO at international and European levels to facilitate the development of the public health approach to violence and injury prevention though research, dissemination of the evidence base on effective prevention, and capacity building. CPH also works closely with the European injury collaboration Eurosafe and with a range of other European and International collaborations, focusing particularly on issues surrounding youth and alcohol-related violence. Within the UK, we collaborate with national and local health services, criminal justice agencies and other authorities to conduct original research, develop and deliver injury surveillance systems, evaluate interventions, disseminate evidence and build capacity for injury prevention.
