Personal submission e.g. How would attendance at the safety 2010 conference help you to improve the prevention of injury and the promotion of safety in your locality?	I am a researcher at the Latin American Center for Studies on Violence and Health (CLAVES), the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (FIOCRUZ), thats belong to the Brazilian Health Ministry. CLAVES develops studies about the impacts of different types of violence in the humans health, building assistance for the construction of public policies and other actions to prevent and confront violence - a serious problem in my country, causing many deaths and injuries. Was always present in my professional and academic life the concern with the issue of prevention to different forms of violence. I concluded my Master in Public Policy and Human Development studying a group of mothers of teenage law offenders detained in juvenile detention units in Rio de Janeiro, who banded together to tackle violence - including torture - that occurs in those units, making public such degrading and aims at rights guaranteeing of these young people and their families. Currently I have been developing in CLAVES a national study on teenagers dating violence which presents na alarming high prevalence.From this studie I builded my Doctoral project, seeking to think about such violence prevention and subsidies construction for adequate prevention programs to Brazilian reality. I believe my participation will be of great importance due to the possibility of exchanging experiences, not only to learn about similar problems elsewhere, new works and experiences in the world, but most of all, to know prevention and other strategies that are being considered and constructed and publicize the work weve been conducting.
