Personal submission e.g. How would attendance at the safety 2010 conference help you to improve the prevention of injury and the promotion of safety in your locality?	My motivation for the grant application (less than 150 words): I am into occupational health researches in agricultural farmers and workers, as well as miners. I believe that attending the ICOH 2009 conference will enhance my understanding of occupational health safety issues in these areas so much needed in our country. I have been involved in agricultural safety pesticide research as lead investigator for 5 years now, and in mining for 2 years. Yet, I find myself wanting and needing for a better model and approach in dealing with measures to control occupational safety risks of farmers and miners, and planning of safety interventions that would truly benefit the community. Other reasons why I am very interest to attend the Conference, and to request for scholarship are: 1. I have convened a group on occupational safety. TThe group is national in character involving non government organizations, government agencies, media, professional groups, academe and others. 2. I am also called sometimes to sit in as a member of a consultative group for safety promotion and policy formulation of government agencies like the Department of Labor and Employment, Bureau of Working Conditions, non government organizations dealing with environmental health, local governments like mayors. I hope to share whatever I learn in the conference to these agencies. 3. I am writing a book on occupational and environmental safety which can be used as guidelines for the practicioners in this field.
