Personal submission e.g. How would attendance at the safety 2010 conference help you to improve the prevention of injury and the promotion of safety in your locality?	Since 2001, I work for a NGO Criana Segura which is part of a worldwide organization called Safe Kids. We work to prevent unintentional injuries related to children 0 to 14 years old in Brazil, since 2001. It is the fist cause of death in people 1 to 14 years old. Everyday we have fifteen deaths and we know that most of them are preventable. For that reason our mission is to promote the unintentional injury prevention for educators, health professionals, community leaders, families, and others. We have three strategies: communication, public police and mobilization. We do researches, we send press releases to the media and we work to promote the cause in the government agenda. Last year we start an e-learning course and we also do workshops to train the trainers about unintentional injury prevention. Official data shows that we have 17% decline in the death rate from 2000 to 2007. It is wonderful news but we have to continue and strength the work to reach the goal of 25% decline for 2015. Last year, I went to the Safety Conference and it helped me to understand the problem in a worldwide matter. The experiences of researches and safety tips were very important to address our plan in Brazil. Also we made contacts for partnership with other institutions around the world and in Brazil. I believe the next conference will be a great opportunity to learn more, to present our national experience and to exchange experiences.
