Personal submission e.g. How would attendance at the safety 2010 conference help you to improve the prevention of injury and the promotion of safety in your locality?	I am dedicated as a future academic to working closely with WHO at an international (i.e., Europe, Australia, Canada, and US) level to facilitate and further develop a public health approach to violence and injury prevention as well as child protection prevention though research, dissemination, and collaboration of an evidence-based approach to prevention and capacity building. I am also interested in working closely with international bodies (i.e., the European injury collaboration-Eurosafe) and with a range of other European and International organisations to collaborate on initiatives which particularly focus on issues surrounding children, youth and their families (i.e., alcohol-related violence). The UK collaborates with national and local health services, criminal justice agencies and other authorities to conduct original research, develop and deliver injury surveillance systems, evaluate interventions, disseminate evidence and build capacity for injury prevention. This is a model that many countries, organisations, and practitioners can learn from to assist in their programming initiatives. As the CPH has considerable experience of running conferences at regional, national and international levels I believe I will be able to increase my networks and obtain a considerable amount of knowledge from participation in the Conference.
