The treatment of crash locations is a methodical, step by step process.   This research is a descriptive analysis of crashes which occurred along a clasified B-Road during 2003-2006.  A Crash Factor Grid and collision diagrams were used in the crash investigation.    Site inspections were also undertaken over the time period when the larger proportion of crashes occurred to investigate any other contributing crash factors.
Crash data were obtained from the Central Statistics Office. A total number of 36 crashes occurred along Vingt Pieds Road for the period 2003-2006 where 3 people were killed, 9 were seriously injured and 24 of the road users suffered slight injuries.  
After analysis, the following key issues were noted:
	Total recorded injury crashes were 8 per km with an average of 3 KSI [killed and seriously injured] per year. 
	Two-wheelers were the category of road users that were most at risk.  
	Most crashes occurred in dry weather and 21 out of the 36 crashes happened during the day.
	The predominant crash type along the study route involved vehicles colliding at right angles and at rear ends.  There were 14 of these crashes in four years.
 Once options for treatment were established, accident savings were estimated and an economic assessment was carried out to determine the viability of the treatments.  The appraisal showed that the recommended measures would be beneficial as a positive Net Present Value [NPV] and a Benefit/Cost Ratio [BCR] greater than 1.0 were obtained.
