Safe Kids Germany created a series of highly innovative exhibitions to inform children, parents, and practitioners about injury prevention. One of these is the Experimental Exhibition Children in the House!?. Exhibitions are an effective prevention tool to increase public awareness and disperse information by allowing the public to learn about hazards in a targeted, hands-on fashion. Along with the implementation of prevention policies, the best prevention measure is the ability of parents and caregivers to recognize and eliminate sources of potential danger.  
The public is largely unaware of household dangers to children, particularly at home. The home is an engaging but also hazardous place for children. Therefore it is essential to inform people of the common risks so they may protect their children and provide a safe family setting.  
The exhibition gives adults the unique possibility to step into the world of small children. Oversized furniture transfer the visitors into the perspective of a child, who perceives the room and all kind of furniture from less than one meter height. By this means adults immediately realize, what kind of temptations and hazards occur to toddlers at home. 
In contrast to health exhibitions of previous decades which relied on theoretical instruction and deterrence, todays more interactive exhibition helps motivating people to take responsibility for their childrens health. 
Until now the exhibition has been widely presented to general public all over Germany and has offered hands-on opportunities for increased awareness of injury risks. The interactive exhibition travels to various sites, and is complemented by online and print material. 
The exhibit is highly demanded of television and broadcasting stations, as well as the print media, mainly due to unusual perspectives and the unique possibility to permit an impression of the perspective of a two year old child. Millions of television viewers and readers were exposed to the exhibit and its safety messages. Being the core of a co-operation between Safe Kids Germany and a German banking group, the exhibition is preferably presented associated with actions of the banking group. Nevertheless many institutions demand the exhibition for their purposes, e.g. museums, public health partners or hospitals.
