An investigation about teenagers dating violence, from ten brazilian cities. Was analyzed the prevalence of sexual violence under gender perspective by an epidemiological survey of 3025 adolescents between 15 and 19 years. Was used the Conflict in Adolescent Dating Relationships Inventory (CADRI). 45,7% of the adolescents mentioned to suffer sexual violence (46,2%, girls; 44,9%, boys). All issues that they measured sexual violence against partners were mentioned far more by boys than by girls.The type of sexual violence most suffered was to be forced kissing when I didn't want to, reported more by girls. Only 1.8% of girls said they force the boyfriend to have sex without intending to, as opposed to 6.7% of boys.In much lower proportions, but in contrary to what common sense believes, boys reported more to be touched sexually and to be forced to have intercourse when they didn't want to. The perpetration of this violence was mentioned by 42%, especially boys (52.5% against 34.9% of girls). Was observed that 0.6% of adolescents also practiced sexual violence in previous relationships. Furthermore, 38.8% of those found not to have sexual previously, inform practice some form of sexual violence in current relationship, showing the increasing profile of this form of aggression with aging. Results indicate the need for attention and intervention by the school, the family and the health professionals, as well as by the media, in order to contribute to the prevention of violent relationships.
