Introduction: Noise pollution is getting a serious problem and gradually increasing number of complains by the people who are affected by noise pollution. People of urban areas, house near highway, drivers and helpers are the high risk group of the environmental hearing loss.
Methods:
A sample format of questionnaires was asked to the target sample groups that help to show the qualitative and quantitative data.
For the case control study, 24 exposed and 16 non exposed residents, drivers.demographic data and surrounding information was also considered. Audiometric test and adjustment for occupational noise was done.
Result:
The major health effect induced by the environment noise was observed as lack of concentration followed by irritation, fatigue and headache. The crude odd ratio and 95%cofidence intervals for the exposed subjects was 4.2(104, 12).after adjustment for occupational nosie, the odd ratio (95%ci) was 4.0(1.2, 13).
Conclusion:
This study shows that exposure to noise causes wide ranges of health effects. For the exposed subjects there was an increased risk of noise induced hearing loss. The risk was significantly increased also after for occupational noise.
